This was forwarded to me and I checked into this and this is very accurate as to what happened in Atlanta at a "Deeper Still" Conference right before July 4th Week-end.

Dear Ones,

On June 27th and 28th I attended a conference in Atlanta called “Deeper Still.” Internationally known speakers Kay Arthur, Beth Moore and Priscilla Shirer were there and I looked forward to a special time of worship and having God convict me of my sins and lead me to areas in my life where I need to change. I have been to similar conferences for years, although none this large and with so many well-known speakers. There were over 20,000 women in attendance at the Phillips Arena in Atlanta- they said it was the largest crowd ever. I had an idea of what to expect from the conference, but nothing prepared me for what actually happened. I feel led to share my experience with family and friends. This is important, so stay with me!



When Kay Arthur took the stage you could just tell that her spirit was heavy and there was a certain “heaviness” in the atmosphere even before she started to speak.



She said that she had been literally physically sick to have to bring us this message and right out the gate she said, We are in grave danger.” She said that God had revealed to her that a literal famine is coming to America. Physical, not spiritual. She said that God is moving in judgment against our nation. I know I can’t describe this well enough, but the atmosphere was ominous. Kay is a seasoned speaker and she had to BATTLE to get through her message. She stumbled over scriptures and had an extremely difficult time. At times I was almost expecting her to collapse. At one point she just had to stop and pray. There was no person, myself included, that I could see who did not have tears streaming down their faces. As you may know, Kay Arthur is normally a very confident, composed speaker, but she was literally in a spiritual battle and it was taking place right before my eyes. I have never seen anything like it. She went on to give 7 things that Christians must do during this time and I am going to give those to you now:



1. Jer 4:3- Break up the fallow ground- return to Me. Repent. Get on your face before God and ask him to break your heart with the things that break His heart.

2. Mourn- Jer. 9:17-18 and Ezekial 9. It is time to weep because our nation’s sin is incredible.

3. Pray- Jer 36:7- Pray fervently, passionately for America.

4. Love God’s Word- Jer. 20. You MUST love the Word of God and be in the Word of God. I was particularly convicted here because I know I have not been as deeply in His Word as I need to be. She said we must get serious about this.

5. Love others as Jesus loved them. Jer. 31:3 and John 13:34.

6. Introduce people to Jesus Christ. It’s time to get serious about this. This is no time for timidity. Jer. 31:31; Jer. 33:1-9 and 15 and 17.

7. Rest. If you will do these things, then rest in the fact that you have done God’s will. She said that it is going to be vitally important for us to get enough physical rest. She went on to say that God has not given us a spirit of fear and that if we are obedient to Him, we will be protected.



She said to read Ezekial 14 over and over until you understand it. This is what God will do if a country turns against Him. She said that this is going to be a calamity ( she used the word calamity in such a way that you knew this is going to be no small thing) for our country, and gave many more scripture references, but what I have given you are the main points that she made. I hope you know that I would not have sent this to you if I had not been profoundly affected by it and feel it is of great importance to share it.

I am desperately trying to get back into my routines. I was up early this morning and along with Taylor and Lauren's help have managed to get the living room, foyer, bathroom and hall picked up and vacuumed. Taylor is doing the dishes now. I have put a load of laundry in, and started the soup for lunch. Candi and her kids are coming over this morning, so that has also motivated me to pick up a little. I am so lethargic that it's not even funny. I feel okay until right after lunch then I need to lay down. Sometimes I recoup around 4 p.m, but often times I am in the bed until evening. It's very distressing and depressing to not be able to do the things I need to do. Rodney is getting a little frustrated I can tell, but hasn't said anything so far. I hope he knows that I am doing the best that I can right now, with the kids help.

We had a day of fellowship yesterday at church. We meet at the pastor's home the last Sunday of the month for an abbreviated worship service, and then to spend time together, where normally we need to rush off. The pastor firmly believes in the fellowship concept as spoken of in the Book of Acts. He has founded our congregation with this belief as one of the concepts, along with spreading the Gospel, of course; believing we can only help others once we learn to be compassionate with those around us.

On Saturday, the girls and I, along with one of my sisters, Ann (she's a year younger than me) drove to Cedar Park for my brother's finance's bridal shower. It was very nice, and a lot of fun. The girls enjoyed participating, and making scrapbook pages for Vanessa, though those pages may be the ones she won't use. Who knows. LOL! On the way to Cedar Park we stooped at a fruit and veggie stand, and a small town candy shop, as well as, stopping for lunch in I believe Blanco. Not too sure of the town. We chose to drive the scenic route to avoid all the traffic that normally is present on IH35 through San Marcos, New Braunfels, and all the way to Austin. We were able to bypass the traffic mess the entire way. The girls watched movies on the DVD and listened to music on Ann's iPhone, while she and I talked about lots of stuff. It was a fun day.

Rain! Yeah!

I am looking for a mini flood, nothing disastrous, but definitely enough water to end the drought here in TEXAS.

It has been raining steadily since about 8:15 this morning, and it is now noon. We have received over two inches of rain so far, and more still to come today and tomorrow.

All of this is courtesy of Hurricane Dolly that hit Brownsville, which is south of us, yesterday. Being further inland, we don't normally receive the direct affects of the hurricane, but do get the rain, which is welcome and much needed.

Happy Birthday Hannah!

Today is Hannah's 5th Birthday. Wow! it has gone by so fast.

Instead of a birthday party, she asked to do things with just her, Lauren and myself. Frankly, a party would have been cheaper. LOL!

We started the day at a Spa in San Antonio, where we all received our first pedicures and manicures. The girls were getting the toes done for their photo session later that day, in which they would be barefoot.

After the Spa we had lunch, and then headed to Babies R 'Us to do a little shopping. I can often find a few things to fit Hannah on the clearance racks. Their photo appointment was scheduled for 2 p.m., but we were ready at 1 p.m., and they took us then, since they didn't have any other appointments. We finished around 2:30, leaving with our pictures and everything! After the pictures we headed to the Shops at La Cantera (the ritzy side of town) to go to Build a Bear. Hannah wanted to go there for her birthday, and had received $40.00 from a variety of people for her birthday. Her daddy and I bought her bear, and she bought lots of accessories.

We headed to Rudy's to meet up with their dad for her birthday dinner, and then came home for them to play with their bears, and serve up the ice cream birthday cake she wanted.

Thought I'd update the blog here, as I haven't been able to do so lately. Things have been slow still as I struggle to cope with being sick so much. I have several health issues among them being:

fibromyalgia
osteopenia
adrenal gland problems

Lauren has been an awesome help for a ten year old. She did all the laundry the other day. For being the first time it was okay, though she does tend to fill the washer too full, and doesn't believe in sorting colors. But it's good, we don't have anything delicate that really needs to be separated. Everyone folded and put their own clothes away. Taylor has been doing dishes, as well as, cleaning up the living room, though all of this "help" has been done grudgingly, as he doesn't believe in physical work. Hannah has been sweet by getting me drinks and kleenex, and most often lays in the bed with me, twirling my hair while we watch tv.

Hannah will turn 5 next week, and we have a big day planned of manicures, pedicures, hair cutting, picture taken at the photographer, and then going to Build a Bear. She wants an ice cream cake but hasn't decided on where to eat for dinner. She is forgoing a birthday party and inviting people, by doing all these things with just us, so that's good. They normally only get a big party on major birthdays (1, 5, 10, 13, 16, 18, 21) are big birthdays for our family. Not to mention our 30 and 40th birthdays LOL!

The rain has abated for now, and the 100 degree temps are back. We lost a baby chick this week, to what I am not sure. Due to their increased size, we moved them from the small cage to the regular coop (in the back yard, not at the land). They are still too small to be put with the regular hens, and I need to get rid of the rooster before putting the chicks with the hens. He's too violent.

Rodney took the kids to see the movie Wall-E, and I am getting ready for the Ladies' Bible Study at 6 p.m.

Went to the doctor on Friday, and am waiting for results which are supposed to be ready tomorrow. I will call in the morning to find out what's up.

Saturday was a lazy day, and very NOT normal for us. Usually we are busy, and running around like crazy. Yesterday, Rodney laid on the couch watching tv, and I laid in the bed watching tv, and the kids played the Prince Caspian video game on the Playstation ALL day. I don't like video games as a rule, and this was definitely different from normal, as they have NEVER been allowed to play for more than an hour, much less from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Well, off to do my hair, and locate my shoes so I can leave for Bible Study.

Well, Praise God! we have been having rain every morning and every late afternoon. My grass is actually turning green. Now if it would only rain at the land I'd be even happier.

The Ladies Bible Study is here this evening. I am getting ready to put the making for bread in the bread machine as part of my refreshments. I am serving ham, bread, fresh butter, fruit salad, spinach salad, coffee, and tea.

I am using the WiFi from the DQ to post and check my email for a few minutes. It has been a hard adjustment trying to wean myself off of the Internet, but it has been worth it, as I spend less time on the computer reading emails and postings from all the groups I used to be a part of. I unsubscribed from the large number of groups today. Other than one or two ladies I have met online, I have decided that it is better for me to make friends with "real" people, those that are in my everyday sphere of influence. I am surrounded by neighbors that I have been too scared to talk to for 16 years, but have committed to making friends with them, as well as, concentrating on the friendships/relationships I have already.

Well, gotta go, so I can get everything ready for Bible Study. The house is clean, but I want to prepare the food. Hope everyone is having a good Sabbath!

Happy Indepence Day!

Most people in the United States celebrate the 4th of July, but do you know exactly why the holiday is so important to our country? Imagine how you would feel if someone older than you (maybe an older sister or brother) kept telling you what to do all of the time and kept taking more and more of your allowance. That is how the colonists felt in the years leading up to 1776. Great Britain kept trying to make the colonists follow more rules and pay higher taxes. People started getting mad and began making plans to be able to make their own rules. They no longer wanted Great Britain to be able to tell them what to do, so they decided to tell Great Britain that they were becoming an independent country. (To be independent means to take care of yourself, making your own rules and providing for your own needs.)

The Congress met in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and they appointed a committee (a group of people working together to do a specific job) to write a formal document that would tell Great Britain that the Americans had decided to govern themselves. The committee asked Thomas Jefferson to write a draft (first try) of the document, so he worked for days, in absolute secret, until he had written a document that he thought said everything important that the committee had discussed. On June 28, 1776, the committee met to read Jefferson's "fair" copy (he put his best ideas together and wrote them neatly.) They revised (made some changes) the document and declared their independence on July 2, 1776. They officially adopted it (made it theirs) on July 4, 1776. That is why we call it "Independence Day." Congress ordered that all members must sign the Declaration of Independence and they all began signing the "official" copy on August 2, 1776. In January of the next year, Congress sent signed copies to all of the states.

The Declaration of Independence is more than just a piece of paper. It is a symbol of our country's independence and commitment to certain ideas. A symbol is something that stands for something else. Most people can look at a certain little "swoosh" and know that it stands for "Nike." Well, the signers of the Declaration of Independence wanted the citizens of the United States to have a document that spelled out what was important to our leaders and citizens. They wanted us to be able to look at the Declaration of Independence and immediately think of the goals we should always be working for, and about the people who have fought so hard to make these ideas possible. The people who signed the Declaration risked being hanged for treason by the leaders in Great Britain. They had to be very brave to sign something that would be considered a crime! So every time we look at the Declaration of Independence, we should think about all of the effort and ideas that went into the document, and about the courage it took for these people to stand up for what they knew was right -- independence!

I haven't been on in awhile, as I am changing my internet usage to only using the local available WiFi and the library access. This means I can't just get online when I want to anymore, which has proved hard, as I am a computer addict. Yes, I admit it. ;-)

The past few weeks have been very difficult as I have been sick, I have lots of blood work done, as well as, an EKG (which turned out great) and a few other tests. Not feeling well means I have fallen behind in my normal housework and laundry. The past two days I felt better and cleaned, partly due to being motivated by a scheduled house showing.

Today, I am resting more than usual as most of my housework is done. I am doing laundry, and have put a ham in the roaster for tonight's dinner. I need to go put bread in the bread maker, and work on the dessert I am making. It's a variation of my mom's Cool Whip Fruit Salad. Plus, I am making a layered dessert using Cool Whip, Strawberries and blackberries. I think blue berries would look pretty, but I don't like the taste.

Today we watched the "Songs of Praise" special on TV. It was hosted by Michael W. Smith, and a few other Christian artists, and was a very good patriotic show. The girls and I went to lunch, as the guys are working at the land, cutting grass, and plowing a firebreak. Grass fires are increasing in the area due to the drought (though it did rain earlier for about 15 minutes straight - Praise God!) so we are trying to keep our grass down to help keep our property from being overtaken by grass fire.

The girls went outside to stomp in the puddles by the driveway...simple pleasures LOL! plus are very muddy from digging in the mud......yuck!

How funny! The kids jumped up to race back outside as a young boy rode his horse by...I wish my camera batteries were charged. We see more and more people riding their electric golf cars around town, riding horses, pulling wagons and biking. I am sure it's due to the gas prices. Hitching posts have sprung up over town. When we first moved here 18 years ago, several stores still have them, probably just for looks. Over the years as they rotted, they were taken out. Well, in the past couple of months, new ones have sprung up. I'll down a picture, as soon as my batteries are charged. It's kind of cool. We always see people riding their horses around town, but the numbers have just increased.
